Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life,A new student named Rafe Khatchadorian (Griffin Gluck), who is very passionate of his artistic talent, can not wait to start his first day at Hills Village Middle School, but it is not as glamorous as he believes when Principal Dwight (Andy Daly) and most teachers who are in charge of him, are cruel and worse than the bullies. So after Rafe and his friends have finally had enough of them, they come up with an idea to start a massive “insurrection” to go up against their atrocious principal to humiliate him.

Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life,On August 4, 2015, it was announced that Steve Carr would next direct the film adaptation of the 2011 novel Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life written by James Patterson, and the script was written by Chris Bowman and Hubbel Palmer.Griffin Gluck would play the lead role as Rafe Khatchadorian, a student at Hills Village Middle School. Leopoldo Gout and Bill Robinson would produce the film along with CBS Films which would also handle the international sales, with Lionsgate handling the distribution.On November 12, 2015, more cast announced for the film, whose script was also written by Kara Holden, and it was announced that Patterson would co-finance the film through his James Patterson Entertainment along with Participant Media and CBS Films.
